Day 12 Saturday “And she sleeps”
Even people new to a country need to
rest. I finally did. A group got up and went shopping ---again,
another group went on a hash run (not what you’re thinking- they literally just
go out and run fun routes that is different every week), but I chose sleep and
productivity. I finally unpacked all my stuff (I think I lost $300.00!!!),
decorated my room a bit and just listened to the rain and thought to my self-
“I sure am glad I am not a runner!” I think they swam more than they ran.
When I came my expectation of the
monsoon season was gushing rains and sideways pushing winds- so far I have been
pleasantly surprised. Up until today, every time I have stepped out the door, it has stopped raining. Today, however,
it rains and rains hard… all day. It sounds like the plane engine hen the plane
is first taking off. I had some more
first today: the first time I turned on
the TV, the first time I used the stove top and the first time I have been
alone. The results were- I could only
find one channel (thankfully another teacher came over later to show me how to work
the satellite), the gas stove has two levels- off and high, and alone time
makes me tired- a two-hour nap. Overall, I would say it was a very good day.
